  my brother has been talking about the earth being flat and some big conspiracy going on to make people beieve otherwise.

  what are people's thoughts on this?.

  Some Bible scholars have come to believe that those builders possessed super-human skills and abilities. They may have been the Giant Nephilim who populated Earth in the time of Noah and later. If that is so then they would have known that Earth is indeed a spheroid.

  It is quite true that our modern construction skills and machinery would not enable us to readily duplicate many of those ancient structures. One day we will know how they were made and who made them.

  Too many have fallen for the Flat Earth Fantasy simply "because they can."

  It is thought that the acts of defending the belief produce a "manipulator's high" which is characteristic of narcissism. They know they're wrong but truly enjoy pulling chains and pushing buttons. Because they can.

  we know whats its like--and the effect it has had on our lives.

  but what about those of us who practiced shunning before--when we were members of the watchtower cult ?.

  Meat Eating

  most hard to swallow meat and fish (that i was aware of) that i have ever eaten is rabbit, but also deer, octopus and eel sushi.. how about your meat eatings?

  what have you eaten that is interesting?.

  While in Japan we enjoyed Whale meat, both raw and cooked, Horsemeat ham and a sea snail called Sazae. All very tasty. Whale meat looks rather like beef but has a hint of the sea; Horsemeat is somewhat gamy and Sazae,cooked in its shell over a flame with seasoning, is slightly chewy but delicious. My favorite though was fatty hog intestine; a tad smelly while cooking but fantastically flavorful. I loved the foods in Japan and all of Asia for that matter. Never got the courage to try Balut in the Philippines though. Most of the Balut I saw were Goose Eggs with the embryo quite well developed.

  the cult makes extensive use of the morbid fear inducing threat of armageddon and eternal destruction of all who are not witnesses and even those who may be deficient in their "field service" obligations.

  to really intensify the fear jws are forbidden to seek "other opinions" from any source outside the wtborg cult inc. "approved" publications and/or elder counsel.

  witnesses are taught that christendom is wicked; that it is babylon the great; that any who consort with christendom are guilty of "sin" and apostasy.. while i don't agree with all that tim mchyde publishes, i do find that his thoughts concerning the second coming and all that it entails to be quite sensible in contrast to wtborg cult inc. teachings.

  While I don't agree with all that Tim McHyde publishes, I do find that his thoughts concerning the Second Coming and all that it entails to be quite sensible in contrast to WTBorg Cult Inc. teachings. There are Biblical reasons to be assured that Armageddon will not occur until all aspects of prophecy are fulfilled. If witnesses were able to freely research such important doctrine they could find reassuring answers.

  But then those alternative possibilities would expose the lies of WTBorg Cult Inc. doctrine. An eventuality which the GB G.O.D. cannot countenance. Fear is their tool/weapon of choice to keep the deceived believers in line. They have found a way to make the fear work for them.

  in the discussion about race i adopted a position i am not entirely comfortable with.

  i think there is a sense in which it is useful to distinguish categories of description that can be fruitfully defended (apples and bananas) and those that cannot (caucasian or other racial descriptions for example).

  but there is a more fundamental sense in which i believe that everything is socially constructed, every single line you can think of.

  it`s christmas eve here in australia today and i wish all of you a very merry xmas simply because i can without being zapped , or hauled into a jc committee.. it doesn`t matter whether you are religious or not , i`m not now , however i can appreciate and respect those who do.. so whatever your views on the matter have a great day and enjoy the holidays in whatever grabs your fancy.. and if jw`s do come knocking on your door as they do this festive season wish them a merry xmas and anti-witness to them ..

  While the Lamb of God wasn't born this time of year (September actually) it was this time of year that the three wise men were able to locate him. Which means for practical purposes this Holly Day is close enough for celebratory reasons.

  Best wishes to all y'all in the Whole Wide World! Merry Christmas! Happy New Year!

  He came and gave his life for us because he loves the Whole World of People. He will manage to save all of them (and us) too! That is pretty good news.

  please tell me how not to think too much and get a good night sleep.

  when i was a jw i didn't think too much because i knew everything, but now my mind works overtime.

  how in the hell can i shut it down and stop the anxiety???

  The sense of "confidence" which the High Control WTBorg Cult Inc. instills in the minds of its followers penetrates deeply into the psyche. It seems that almost all who find their way out of The Cult experience some degree of uncertainty anxiety and doubt while "deprogramming" from what once was a very comfortable zone of exclusivity where one just knew that they had found the narrow path and happily were part of the small group who would survive the extermination with the reward of paradise.

  Discovering that there is a Real Truth quite a lot different than the belief that billions will die forever at Armageddon brings much relief. Knowing that The Word tells us that ALL will be saved and ALL will be given healing and health as well as an eternal life removes the doubt and uncertainty residue from the WTBorg Cult Inc. High Control Programming. Then a feeling of true compassion and empathy towards those still trapped in The Cult takes hold and one is able to treat them with kindness while sleeping peacefully at night knowing that even they will be saved.

  We're all in the same boat because we all have our problems and our demons. The Plan for the Whole Creation takes all of that into account.
